Air purification refers to the provision of disinfection, dust and haze removal, removal of harmful decoration residues and odors and other overall solutions to various indoor environmental problems, so as to improve living and office conditions and improve physical and mental health.

Indoor environmental pollutants and pollution sources are mainly:

Pollutants mainly refer to indoor air bacteria, viruses, solid pollutants (such as dust, pollen, bacterial particles, etc.), gaseous pollutants (odor, formaldehyde and other decoration pollution).

According to the principle of action, it can be divided into active purification and passive purification. According to the different pollutants, it can be divided into:

1. Solid-state pollutant removal type: mainly mechanical filtration, electrostatic dust collection, electrostatic electret, negative ion and plasma filtration. Among them: mechanical filtration, electrostatic dust collection, electrostatic stationary extremely passive purification (filtration), only filter the air passing through the filter material; negative ion and plasma filtration for active purification (filtration), the purifier actively releases purification factors for air purification.

2. Gaseous pollutant removal type: removing harmful decoration residues such as formaldehyde and benzene, there are two main technologies: catalytic decomposition and activated carbon adsorption. The principle of catalytic decomposition is to produce carbon dioxide, water and oxygen by reacting with carbonyl compounds such as formaldehyde (HCHO), benzene (C6H6) and hydrocarbon (hydrocarbon) to eliminate the harmful residues.

At present, air purifiers on the market mainly use the following technologies:

1. HEPA filter: High-Efficiency Particulate Air, that is, high-efficiency air particulate filter, referred to as HEPA. PP filter paper, glass fiber, composite PP, PET filter paper, melt-blown polyester non-woven fabric and melt-blown glass fiber are five kinds of materials, which can filter particulate matter with specific particle size.

2. Electrostatic dust collection: Ionic wind technology generates airflow by driving charged particles by electrostatic field force. The charged particles are trapped by the electric field force when they enter the charged dust collector.

3. Activated carbon: Activated carbon is made from wood chips, fruit shells, lignite and other carbon-containing materials by carbonization and activation. The purification effect of activated carbon is directly related to the pore size. When the pore size is close to the particle diameter, the purification effect is most obvious.

4. Catalytic technology: When air and water pass through photocatalyst material as technical unit, a large number of hydroxide ions, peroxide hydroxyl radicals, peroxide ions, hydrogen peroxide and so on are produced through redox reaction. These ions are diffused in the air and sterilized by destroying bacterial cell membranes and coagulating viral proteins. It can decompose various organic compounds and some inorganic substances to remove harmful gases and odors.
